The Brown Egg is another amazing Chinense variety from unknown origin. The plant is very bushy and grows to about 60 cm high in a pot.
The pods are shaped like an egg and are 4-5 cm long and 3 cm wide. They start off green and ripen to a chocolate brown. Very thick walled pods with an amazing flavour and a mid heat. The bottom bit of the pod isn’t hot, but when you get to the top it is quite warm.
This chilli looks amazing and is a great producer. Would be excellent freshly chopped and sprinkled over your dish or stuffed with cream cheese and grill on the BBQ.
Flavour wise: Very juicy and sweet.
Heat level: Mid heat
